Travis is a transactional attorney with comprehensive experience representing developers and property owners in all aspects of life science, retail, office, and mixed-use assets, including the negotiation and drafting of leases, purchase and sale agreements, development and management agreements, reciprocal easement agreements, and all other agreements related to the acquisition, construction, development, operation, and repositioning of commercial projects. Travis also represents master developers in public-private partnerships, including drafting and negotiating their long-term ground leases.
Travis’ clients appreciate his ability to thoroughly analyze and explain the legal complexities of a situation, while balancing the practical, business, and strategic ramifications of potential options, and his ability to creatively develop solutions to complex matters. He understands that legal issues are not one-dimensional, and it is often necessary to approach issues holistically and provide counsel that draws upon several disciplines to provide the highest quality legal representation. Travis’ diverse experience, attention to detail, solution-oriented mindset, and in-depth legal knowledge provides clients with customized, comprehensive, and practical legal counsel aimed at achieving their objectives.
Travis is licensed in three states. He earned his B.A. in Hispanic Literature and Latin American History from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where he was captain of the men’s soccer team. He received his J.D. from The University of Illinois at Chicago, John Marshall Law School where he received two CALI Awards in Real Estate Transactions and Constitutional Law. He has also worked and lived in Cuba, Spain, Mexico, and Ecuador.
