Brenda Loya leads RDF’s investment strategy and lending operations, overseeing a team of investment professionals who deploy capital through innovative financing structures that advance RDF’s mission. Before RDF, Brenda served as Chief Financial and Operating Officer at the Justice Climate Fund, providing capital and technical assistance to a network of community lenders, enabling them to finance clean energy projects in low-income communities across the country.
Previously, as Chief Operating Officer at BlueHub Capital, Brenda strengthened collaboration and efficiency across lending teams to drive growth and expand impact. Earlier, as National Director of Community Development Finance and Commercial Banking at Amalgamated Bank, she led national lending initiatives supporting affordable housing, community facilities, small business development, and clean energy.
Her earlier work with Nonprofit Finance Fund and Citi Community Capital gave her firsthand insight into how capital can transform neighborhoods. A native of El Paso, Texas, Brenda holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from MIT. She serves on the boards of Nonprofit Finance Fund and Community Development Trust.
